Pet Vaccinations in Harrisburg

Complete Treatments to Protect Your Loved One

Vaccinations are a critical part of preventative care for your pet. Vaccines protect our pets from many diseases including rabies, distemper, and Lyme disease. Every dog and cat are different, so our veterinarians develop custom vaccinations plans for each pet. Our veterinarians at Animal Hospital of Dauphin County will determine which vaccinations your pet needs and how often they will be administered.

Benefits of Vaccinating Your Pet

Vaccinating your pet is crucial for their well-being. It provides immunity against contagious diseases, preventing illness and potential fatalities. Regular vaccinations contribute to community health by establishing herd immunity. Protecting your pet from common infections, vaccinations also reduce the risk of costly veterinary treatments. Responsible pet owners prioritize vaccinations, ensuring their beloved animals lead longer, healthier lives with a lower risk of infectious diseases.

All of your pet’s necessary vaccinations are included in each of our available Paws4Wellness program plans. Learn more about our available options by calling us today.

Dog Vaccinations

All dogs must be vaccinated for rabies as required by Pennsylvania State law. We also vaccinate all dogs in our practice for distemper and parvo. Because central Pennsylvania has one of the highest rates of Lyme disease in the United States, we also vaccinate against it. Finally, if your pet goes to the groomer, kennel, or to obedience classes, we may recommend the kennel cough and canine flu vaccines for your dog.

Cat Vaccinations

All cats must also be vaccinated for rabies as required by Pennsylvania State law. All cats in our practice are also vaccinated for distemper and the upper respiratory disease viruses. Finally, cats who go outdoors are vaccinated against feline leukemia.

Your Pet’s Comfort Is Our Priority

Our friendly Harrisburg veterinarians and staff take the time to get to know each of our patients before performing any vaccinations. We are excited to meet your furry family member and help inoculate them against the animal diseases they could face.

Unfortunately my bunny passed away. The hospital was professional and I'm sure they tried their best.
My dog is a bit fearful about some of the parts of her care the staff must perform, however, they get it done (kindly) and Lena is not afraid of visiting the vet. In fact she seems happy to meet people and tried her best to give every other doggy a happy greeting. (I discourage it, in an abundance of caution)
I went to visit this facility to get a second opinion on my dog’s condition! I was very pleased to receive the care and attention they provided. The team was very willing to take the time to see my pet and help find answers to her problem. They were very polite and caring. The doctor took the time to answer any questions I had and offer their professional opinion on what to do next. I did not feel rushed at all through the exam. They made me feel much more comfortable with my dog’s current condition. She helped me see the path ahead much more clearer and took her off medications not needed. I am very willing to move ahead with the staff here and trust them when making decisions with my girl!!
We love the Animal Hospital of Dauphin County! We’ve been to two other vets in the area over the last three decades, and our experience with AHDC has been overwhelmingly positive - it’s far exceeded our expectations in every way. We feel like we’ve found an extended family in them and highly recommend them to others.Thank you to the AHDC staff for all you do, particularly the time you take to educate and support us human family members alongside the phenomenal care you extend to our furry family members!
