For Our Cat Patients

We know that it can be tough to get our feline friends in for a Wellness Exam. But even young indoor cats need to come in and get their nose-to-tail examinations at least once a year. Just like dogs, cats age faster than people — on average about seven years for each of our years.

Annual examinations can pick up any changes, such as a heart murmur, or kidney changes before they become serious. If caught early enough, medication can be added, or diet changed to prolong the life of your furry companion. Most importantly, cats are adept at hiding illness and injury. So when you see them acting differently, it’s very important to bring them to one of our veterinarians for an exam. At the Animal Hospital of Dauphin County we take special care to make sure your cat will have the best visit possible.

Here are some tips for how the make the trip easier for you and your cat:

Unfortunately my bunny passed away. The hospital was professional and I'm sure they tried their best.
My dog is a bit fearful about some of the parts of her care the staff must perform, however, they get it done (kindly) and Lena is not afraid of visiting the vet. In fact she seems happy to meet people and tried her best to give every other doggy a happy greeting. (I discourage it, in an abundance of caution)
I went to visit this facility to get a second opinion on my dog’s condition! I was very pleased to receive the care and attention they provided. The team was very willing to take the time to see my pet and help find answers to her problem. They were very polite and caring. The doctor took the time to answer any questions I had and offer their professional opinion on what to do next. I did not feel rushed at all through the exam. They made me feel much more comfortable with my dog’s current condition. She helped me see the path ahead much more clearer and took her off medications not needed. I am very willing to move ahead with the staff here and trust them when making decisions with my girl!!
We love the Animal Hospital of Dauphin County! We’ve been to two other vets in the area over the last three decades, and our experience with AHDC has been overwhelmingly positive - it’s far exceeded our expectations in every way. We feel like we’ve found an extended family in them and highly recommend them to others.Thank you to the AHDC staff for all you do, particularly the time you take to educate and support us human family members alongside the phenomenal care you extend to our furry family members!
