Meet Our Rehab Team

Meet Marah, our Assistant Director of Rehabilitation! Marah has worked at the Animal Hospital of Dauphin County since 2011. Her current role allows her to combine her passion for animals and her expertise in pain management. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Shippensburg University, and she’s furthered her education by obtaining a veterinary technology degree. Marah has also completed the Canine Rehabilitation Certificate Program at the University of Tennessee and is currently working towards her goal of achieving the Certified Canine Manual Therapy (CCMT) Certificate.

Beyond her professional commitments, you frequently find Marah immersed in outdoor adventures, hiking alongside her spirited husky mix, Jethro. When it’s time to relax, Marah delights in cozying up with a captivating book, finding solace in the warm companionship of her 14-year-old husky mix, Mika.

Meet Elaine! Elaine earned her Bachelor of Veterinary Medical Technology with a concentration in biology in 2002, at Wilson College. After years in general medicine of small animals, her interest grew in helping post-operative and geriatric patients. In December 2015, she completed her certification in canine rehabilitation from the University of Tennessee.

Meet Dr. Jennifer Fletcher Eckenrode, our Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT). She attended Colorado State University where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology (2006) and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree (2010). She completed her rehabilitation training with the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in September 2017. Her special interests include pain management, musculoskeletal ultrasound, neurology, and targeted joint therapy. In her free time, she enjoys being active outdoors with her family, and cooking.

Meet Anastasia Rini, our Rehab Assistant! She started working here as a rehab assistant in February 2020. Anatasia has always loved helping animals feel better and get stronger. Currently, she is working on getting her certification for a canine strength and conditioning coach through the North Carolina State University and becoming a shift lead. When Anastasia is not working, she is either pet sitting for others or hanging out with her fiancé and dog Caroline.

Meet Tegan, our assistant in our Canine Rehabilitation Department! She started her role in November 2022. Previously, she worked with service dogs in training, cats at the nation’s largest animal sanctuary, and all kinds of farmed animals from cows to rabbits. She is currently a student of veterinary technology and has already earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and German Studies from the College of Wooster. Teagan has one cat, named Degas, and enjoys hiking with friends and the TV show LOST.

Bio coming soon!

Meet Taylor from our Canine Rehabilitation Team! Taylor started working with the rehab team in March of 2022. She has always had a love for animals and helping our furry friends in any way possible. Taylor went to Dauphin County Technical School and was a part of the vet assistant program that further impacted her desire to help animals. She later attended college at Vet Tech Institute and received an associate degree in Specialized Veterinary Technology in 2022. When she is not working, she enjoys snuggling with her two Pitbull mixes, painting, or reading.

Meet Vanessa, our rehab assistant on our Canine Rehabilitation Team! Vanessa Long recently joined the staff of the Animal Hospital of Dauphin County in August 202. She graduated from Villanova University in May of 2023, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry with a Minor in Psychology. While Vanessa plans to continue her education in veterinary medicine, she has been enjoying working with animals through their injuries and seeing them get stronger and healthier. When Vanessa is not working, she loves cheering on Philadelphia Sports!

The vets here are wonderful and they will tell you like it is and not sugarcoat the issues with your pet. Been coming here for years and it is always easy to get an appointment at either of their locations
Every vet and every technician has seemed to love our cats. Amanda and Dr. Sarsfield, especially! We participated in a clinical trial, for which we hope the compensation may help with future expenses. Each vet has vast experience and are so caring! Amanda always wants to be available to clip our kitties' claws!
I love this place it is great that they have a cat and a dog side no wait very quick within and out service
The staff is great from the front desk to the to the doctor. Everyone is professional and willing to help and answer any questions you may have. Dr. Fletcher is an animal lover not only a vet. She was on the floor with our dog and took her time to explain everything we needed to know. It is a very busy office, but they are timely with their appointments. He ended up have surgery there, and everything from drop off to pick up went well.
